Turning Debt Into Wealth

Turning debt into wealth is a great program. It only requires commitment. The rest will happen on its own. Spending money is easy however so is saving money. Focus on what you want your money to do for your future instead of what you want to blow your money on. Plus eventually those items you dream of buying are no longer a stress when you do buy them.

By paying off your debt and turning it into wealth you can buy a house then when the house payment comes you have the money to pay it. I know this seems simple but look around at all of the individuals losing their homes. Today’s economy almost points to individuals who have managed their money well. Those individuals who can afford to pay the bills do not have a lot of debt.

For years as a couple we enjoyed being in debt with the best clothes and cars I did find it hard to change and keep changing. Turning debt into wealth is not what Americans often do. For example: A few months ago I lost my job and my husband totaled one of our cars in an accident. We were tempted to go out and replace the car knowing he still made enough for the monthly payment. However we looked the economy and decided the paid for truck sitting in the front driveway was a better choice. Our ratings have not improved with neighbors across the way that drive a sixty thousand dollar truck but we sleep well at night. In addition my husband’s overtime was cut which equals about sixty thousand a year and now we can spend that time camping, fishing and working in our yard. I am really enjoying the recession as a couple who previously worked least 160 hours a week at work we have not seen this much of each other or our kids in years. I remember at times praying we would get to have time together now we have that time and are not stressed about paying our bills.

In order to maintain shopping now is done on a needs only basis we eat a beef we bought a few months ago and going out to eat is not happening. We have cut back on our alcohol consumption and I even am making homemade popsicles. Our city has a free pool for the kids. In addition, the best item we have saved money on is an old bike. We took this bike to the bike shop and for thirty dollars. Now we spend time biking as a family activity.

Turning our debt into wealth during the recession has been difficult however necessary. After all none of us know when this will end.
